Bears, Oh My!

We read, “The Little Mouse, the Red Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear” by Don Wood, told with a little help from our friend Mr. Squeakers. Little Mouse finds  a red ripe strawberry, but comes to find he is not the only who loves to eat red, ripe strawberries. What will little mouse do-you’ve got to read it to find out! Miss Lizzie told us the Native American Tale, “Grandfather Bear is Hungry,” where Grandfather Bear awoke in early spring to find not a lot of food, but the kindness of a chipmunk. Gerald & Piggie were at it again in, “I am Going!” by Mo Willems.

Itsy Bitsy & Great Big Spider

The itsy bitsy spider

went up the water spout.

Down came the rain and

washed the spider out.

Out came the sun and

dried up all the rain,

and the itsy bitsy spider

went up the spout again

Did you know the itsy bitsy spider has a big brother?! Replace ‘itsy bitsy’ with ‘great big spider’-remember to make a big spider with your arms!

The fun did not stop at stories; we made bear finger die-cut puppets. You can find a similar project @ http://www.kidsandtraffic.mq.edu.au/educators/fingerpuppets.htm

Our next Stories & Craft will be December 7 & 8th @ 10:15. Tickets handed out @ 10-come early to get a spot!
