This week we read books about feelings and celebrated Dr. Seuss 107th birthday! “My Many Colored Days”  by Dr. Seuss tells about all the different types of days a person can have from a yellow busy, buzzy bee day to a slow brown bear day.

Children’s musician Laurie Berkner wrote a wonderful lyrical book, “The Story of My Feelings”, about the ways we can express emotions by crying, laughing, yelling and sighing. This book comes with a musical recording of the book, so readers can sing/read along with the illustrations.

We burned 400 calories jumping up every time the word “up” appeared in Dr. Seuss, “A Great Day for Up!” The silly rhyming text also shows all the different meanings of the word up. You can find out more about Dr. Seuss, play games and make crafts at http://www.seussville.com/!
